Indian Wells WTA 1000: Elina Avanesyan reaches second round

Armenian Elina Avanesyan won against American Lauren Davis 6-4, 6-2 to move into the second round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday evening.

Avanesyan, ranked No 39, will face No 19 seed Donna Vekic next.
