Earthquake causes minor damage in Armenian towns

45 aftershocks were recorded following a 4.6-magnitude earthquake that struck 6 km northeast of Spitak, Armenia, on Saturday morning. Tremors measuring between 2 and 3 were felt in Spitak, Stepanavan and Vanadzor.

According to preliminary data from the Interior Ministry, the earthquake caused minor structural damage in the towns of Gyumri and Artik.

In Gyumri, the outer wall layer of a dilapidated house partially collapsed. In Artik, two stones fell from the 5th floor of a residential building, prompting rescuers to remove additional loose debris.

No injuries have been reported.
