Yerevan-Moscow flight diverted due to drone attack

Several flights en route to Moscow were diverted to alternate airports in Russia's Volga Federal District on Tuesday morning after Moscow airports were temporarily closed due to a massive Ukrainian drone attack.

Samara's Kurumoch Airport received eleven redirected flights, Interfax reported, citing its press office.

"On March 11, Kurumoch Airport received 11 flights originally bound for Moscow from Hurghada, Dubai, Magnitogorsk, Bishkek, Karshi, Termez, Bukhara, Yerevan, Tyumen and Kemerovo. Airline representatives are working with the passengers," a spokesperson for the airport said.

Additionally, five flights from Bahrain, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan were diverted to Saratov Airport.

Earlier reports indicated that Kazan Airport accommodated eight diversions from Baku, Osh, Kulyab, Yerevan, Novokuznetsk and Omsk.
