Spanish mountaineer found dead after avalanche in Armenia

A Spanish mountaineer who went missing on Armenia’s Mount Aragats on Tuesday has been found dead.

The Rescue Service reported that the body was recovered at 10:15 a.m. local time on Wednesday.

The mountaineer was part of a nine-member team caught in an avalanche on March 11. The other eight climbers were successfully rescued.

A total of 51 rescuers and two helicopters were involved in the search and rescue operations.
