Dutch FM defends Armenian prisoners' right to fair trial in Azerbaijan

Foreign Minister of the Netherlands Caspar Veldkamp insisted on the Armenian prisoners’ right to a free and fair trial in Azerbaijan.

"Prisoners must be properly protected in accordance with international standards and must have the right to a free and fair trial," Veldkamp told a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan on Wednesday.

He assured that the EU and the Netherlands will continue to push ahead with the issue, emphasizing that it has also been raised in Brussels.
