Armenian FM: Prisoner issue left out of draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan
Humanitarian concerns, including the issue of prisoners, have been left out of the draft peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said on Friday.
His remarks followed the announcement that the countries had agreed on the text of the peace treaty.
Speaking at a session of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mirzoyan emphasized that discussions with Azerbaijan and international partners had consistently addressed issues excluded from the peace agreement or those unrelated to border delimitation and the unblocking of transport links.
"The resolution of humanitarian issues, particularly the release of prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees, is essential for a comprehensive settlement," Mirzoyan stated.
