Emergency building residents protest outside Armenian government

Residents of an emergency building in Vardashen continued their protest outside the Armenian government building after meeting with Vahan Khachatryan, head of the Real Estate Management Department at the Yerevan Municipality.

They are demanding that authorities fulfill their pre-election promise to resolve their housing issue within 1.5 years.

At a meeting with the municipal official, the residents were told to "be patient" and wait at least two more months. Dissatisfied with the vague response, they decided to make their demands to the government.

"Sewage is flooding our homes, we can't wait any longer," the protesters said. They called on Chief of Staff Arayik Harutyunyan to meet with them and provide a written timeline for their relocation.
