Armenia unveils final squads for European Weightlifting Championships

The Armenian Weightlifting Federation has announced the final squads for the men’s and women’s teams set to compete at the European Weightlifting Championships.

The men's team includes Garnik Cholakyan (61 kg), Gor Sahakyan (73 kg), Rafik Harutyunyan (81 kg), Mnatsakan Abrahamyan (89 kg), Davit Hovhannisyan (96 kg), Ara Aghanyan (102 kg), Petros Petrosyan (102 kg), Simon Martirosyan (109 kg), Garik Karapetyan (109 kg) and Varazdat Lalayan (+109 kg).

The women's team members are Aleksandra Grigoryan (55 kg), Isabella Yaylyan (55 kg), Anna Amroyan (76 kg), Milena Khachatryan (76 kg), Emma Poghosyan (81 kg), Margarita Arakelyan (81 kg), Tatev Hakobyan (87 kg), Liana Gyurjyan (87 kg), Julieta Avanesyan (+87 kg) and Meri Tumasyan (+87 kg).

Both teams are holding their final training camps. The men’s team is training in Yerevan, while the women’s team is preparing in Gyumri.

The European Weightlifting Championships is scheduled to take place in Chișinău, Moldova, from April 13 to 21.
