Two Armenian athletes nominated for Europe Weightlifter of the Year award

Olympic silver medalist, world and European champion Varazdat Lalayan and European champion, world bronze medalist Aleksandra Grigoryan are among the nominees for the 2024 EWF – AIPS Europe Weightlifter of the Year award.

"Achieving outstanding sports performances requires significant hard work and sacrifice, with top athletes receiving medals in recognition of their achievements, teams enjoying a moment of satisfaction for meeting their goals and all of us enjoying the victories in our sport. An additional way to honor and celebrate the best athletes is through special awards," the European Weightlifting Federation said.

The winners will be announced during the opening day of the European Championships in Chișinău, Moldova, on April 12.
