Lawyer: Decision made to arrest Gyumri mayoral candidate's father and son

The Anti-Corruption Committee has ordered the arrest of the father and son of Martun Grigoryan, the mayoral candidate of the Our City bloc in the upcoming Gyumri elections, his lawyer Arsen Babayan said after reviewing the investigator's documents.

"We have examined the decisions. Martun Grigoryan's father, Kamo Grigoryan, is currently not at home. We have informed him of the arrest order, and he is now on his way home. Martun Grigoryan's son, Karen Grigoryan, is already here," the lawyer stated on Thursday.

The lawyer clarified that the case pertains to alleged promises made during election campaigning and the distribution of electoral bribes.

"The decisions do not clearly outline the factual circumstances involved. The two men have been named suspects in the investigation, and a 24-hour arrest order has been issued against them to bring them before the court to decide on their detention," he added.
