Armenian MP: Azerbaijani drills focus on special operations in residential areas

Azerbaijan is holding tactical military exercises involving its air force while provoking ceasefire violations along the border with Armenia, warns Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction.

“Remarkably, the drills focus on capture of combat positions and special operations in residential areas,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

“In addition to its military strategy, Azerbaijan is heavily leveraging political, psychological and propaganda tactics to increase pressure on the country,” he stated.

"Meanwhile, Armenia's leadership is busy setting new 'records' in cycling and ensuring robust 'defense' in the propaganda war against the opposition. At the same time, they continue to make 'progress' in politically motivated persecution of their critics," the MP added.
