Pashinyan announces creation of Public Council, names its chair

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced the formation of the Public Council of Armenia.

According to the official statement, a candidate for the Public Council chairman was nominated from among its 45 members for the government's consideration.

"By Government Decision No. 389-A dated April 9, 2025, Arayik Khzmalyan has been appointed Chairman of the Public Council. As of April 10, 2025, the Public Council is considered officially formed," the statement reads.

Araik Khzmalyan currently serves as director of the Yerevan Matenadaran.
