Armenia denies fresh Azeri claims of ceasefire violation

The Armenian Defense Ministry has rejected false Azerbaijani accusations of a ceasefire violation by its forces.

"The statement issued by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, alleging that on April 10, at approximately 8:55 p.m., units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire towards Azerbaijani combat positions located in the northeastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality," it said in a statement.

The Armenian Prime Minister's Office has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.

"The Defense Ministry of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Prime Minister's Office, it stands ready to investigate the facts supporting the statement issued by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, should they be provided to Armenia," the ministry stressed.
