Artur Aleksanyan sets a world record

Legendary Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Artur Aleksanyan has set a new world record.

The International Wrestling Federation on Friday shared a video showing Aleksanyan’s latest achievement – a world record in the handgrip. 

Aleksanyan recorded a grip strength of 195 pounds (88.5 kg), breaking Iranian wrestler Amirreza Masoumi’s earlier record of 186.6 pounds (84.6 kg).

Aleksanyan is an Olympic champion, multiple medalist, four-time world champion and seven-time European champion.
