Impeachment most realistic way to remove Pashinyan from power, MP says

Impeachment remains the most realistic method of removing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from power, according to Hayk Mamijanyan, leader of the opposition Pativ Unem faction in the Armenian National Assembly.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mamijanyan emphasized that without widespread public demonstrations, impeachment remains merely “a word”. However, he asserted that the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), which is part of the opposition bloc, views impeachment as the most practical and attainable route to unseating Pashinyan.

“I have little doubt that with broad public consolidation, this is a completely realistic and achievable goal,” Mamijanyan said.

He also stated that the 2026 parliamentary elections are currently not a priority for the RPA.

“Our aim is not simply to serve as the opposition to Pashinyan, our ultimate goal is his ouster,” the MP stressed.
