The Armenian Defense Ministry has yet again denied an Azerbaijani accusation of a ceasefire violation.
"The statement disseminated by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, alleging that on April 18 at approximately 10:35p.m., the armed forces of Armenia opened fire on Azerbaijani combat positions located in the southeastern section of the border, does not correspond to reality," it said in a statement.
The Armenian Prime Minister's Office has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.
"The Defense Ministry of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Prime Minister's Office, it stands ready to investigate the facts supporting the statement issued by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, should they be provided to Armenia," the ministry stressed.
