Armenia denies fresh Azeri allegations of ceasefire violation

The Armenian Defense Ministry has rejected false Azerbaijani claims of a ceasefire violation by its forces.

"The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's statement that on April 28 at around 00:25 a.m., Armenian troops allegedly opened fire toward Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern section of the border does not correspond to reality," the ministry said in a statement.

The Armenian Prime Minister's Office has proposed the establishment of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating ceasefire violations and related reports. However, Azerbaijan has yet to respond to this initiative.

"The Defense Ministry of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Prime Minister's Office, it stands ready to investigate the facts supporting the statement issued by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, should they be provided to Armenia," reads the statement.
