Activist Artur Chakhoyan hospitalized after assault

Artur Chakhoyan, a public activist who was beaten by Yerevan's Nor Nork district head Tigran Ter-Margaryan and a group of other people, has been transferred from the police station to hospital.

Chakhoyan is reported to have visible bruises around his eye and is experiencing dizziness.

Earlier on Wednesday, the activist arrived at the district administration building to participate in a public hearing. However, instead of being allowed to attend, he was assaulted by the district head and several others. Police officers took the victim, Chakhoyan, to the station rather than arresting the attackers.
