Armenia's Aleksandra Grigoryan wins bronze at World Youth and Junior Championships

Armenia’s Aleksandra Grigoryan claimed a bronze medal at the 2025 World Youth and Junior Championships in Lima, Peru, competing in the women’s 55 kg weight class.

Coached by Kristine Petrosyan, she lifted 88 kg in the snatch and 116 kg in the clean and jerk, securing a third podium finish with a total of 204 kg on Thursday.

In the men’s 89 kg category, Armenia’s Hovhannes Hovhannisyan lifted a total of 280 kg (125 kg+155 kg), finishing 10th.

The coaches of Armenia’s junior national team are Melik Ghukasyan and Davit Muradyan, the youth team is led by Yervand Kirakosyan, while the women’s team is coached by Taron Tomvasyan.
