Armenia's ruling party nominates three candidates for SJC

Armenian lawmakers are set to elect a new member of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) during the ongoing plenary session of the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The ruling Civil Contract faction has nominated three candidates for the vacant post – Armenuhi Harutyunyan, Anahit Abrahamyan and Ashot Hayrapetyan.

Civil Contract MP Heriknaz Tigranyan introduced the professional background of Armenuhi Harutyunyan.

Harutyunyan stated that she had spent 25 years working in the public sector, including 22 years in the justice system.

“I believe one of my key accomplishments is establishing a comprehensive legal framework for the institution of mutual legal assistance in Armenia,” she added.
