Yerevan opposition councilor's car set on fire

A vehicle belonging to Gevorg Stepanyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council representing the opposition Mother Armenia faction, was set on fire while parked near his house on Tuesday morning, his teammates reported.

Firefighters and police have since concluded their work at the scene.

“Gevorg is not a confrontational person and has no personal enemies. We believe this act was a response to his political activities.” his colleagues said in a statement.
