MPs from the opposition Pativ Unem faction have expressed support for the impeachment effort against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to a letter by activist Edgar Ghazaryan.
In a formal letter on Tuesday, the faction backed the call for a vote of no confidence in Pashinyan and expressed readiness to discuss potential replacements for the prime minister.
“We reaffirm that the most viable path to regime change is through a no-confidence vote,” they stated.
“To avoid complicating the process with unnecessary political aspirations, we declare that we do not currently have a prime ministerial candidate. However, we are open to discussions on possible candidates and are ready to initiate impeachment proceedings without preconditions," reads the letter.
Last week, members of the newly formed We Are Awake movement submitted letters to all 107 MPs of the Armenian National Assembly, urging them to launch impeachment proceedings against Pashinyan.
