MP: Artsakh refugees left alone with their struggles

Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has raised serious concerns over the government’s handling of support for forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians, warning that current assistance will be drastically reduced in just ten days.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Abrahamyan accused the authorities of misleading the public with false promises regarding changes to social and housing programs, which ultimately remained nearly unchanged.

“Access to housing remains beyond reach for the majority of displaced people, while deep cuts to social aid have left many on the brink of homelessness,” the Pativ Unem faction MP wrote.

Abrahamyan also criticized the government’s attempts to silence public discontent by spotlighting alleged misconduct by former Artsakh officials and businessmen, a move, he argued, has neither addressed the urgent needs of displaced families nor led to genuine accountability.

“People who have lost their homes, their homeland and suffered immense tragedy are now left alone to deal with their hardships,” he added.
