Ararat Mirzoyan: Armenia has no plans to reformat alliance with Russia

Armenia is not considering reformatting its alliance with Russia, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavro in Yerevan on Wednesday.

"Are we planning to reformat our allied relations with Russia? Let me answer very clearly – no," Mirzoyan said. “Our mutual commitments are clearly outlined on paper, and none of them have been annulled.”

At the same time, the Armenian foreign minister acknowledged Yerevan's dissatisfaction with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), particularly regarding its response to certain developments.

“It is well known that Armenia has expressed concerns over the CSTO’s reaction to specific events and that we have frozen our participation in the organization’s activities,” Mirzoyan noted.

While refraining from drawing broader conclusions, he emphasized that discussions with Lavrov have been constructive, encompassing both contentious issues and positive dynamics.
