Armenia to host first-ever national solfeggio Olympiad

With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and initiated by Yerevan's Sayat-Nova Music School, Armenia will hold its first nationwide solfeggio Olympiad titled "Woodpecker".

The competition, aimed at promoting solfeggio as a core component of arts education, will be conducted in two rounds: regional/Yerevan and a final round in the capital. It is open to 7th-grade students from music and art schools across Armenia for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Ahead of the event, over 200 school directors and solfeggio teachers participated in seminars organized at the Sayat-Nova Music School with the ministry's support.

The first round, with 192 registered participants, will take place on May 27 at 11 a.m. in Yerevan and Armenia's regions. Students scoring 23-30 points on the written test will qualify for the final round in Yerevan.
