Vazgen Manukyan: Parliamentary elections to be a 'life-or-death' struggle for ruling team

National Democratic Union Chairman Vazgen Manukyan warns that Armenia’s upcoming parliamentary elections will be a “life-or-death” struggle for the ruling team.

Speaking at the party’s congress on Saturday, Manukyan dismissed comparisons to recent local elections in Gyumri, calling them a “trap”, and stressed that the stakes at the national elections are far higher.

“For the current authorities, this is about survival, holding onto power and wealth. They will stop at nothing,” he said.

Manukyan emphasized the need for a united opposition front to effect change through elections.
