Most of $590K stolen from Armenia's Investigative Committee recovered

Armenian law-enforcement agencies have uncovered a meticulously planned and long-prepared embezzlement of $590,000 from a division of the Investigative Committee.

Thanks to coordinated operations by the Anti-Corruption Committee, National Security Service and police, most of the stolen sum – $578,800 – has been recovered. Several suspects have been arrested and have confessed to the crime under the weight of the evidence, the Anti-Corruption Committee told Panorama.am on Saturday.

Authorities have identified the individuals involved, their roles and how the funds were stolen and hidden. Efforts are underway to recover the remaining $11,200.

The Anti-Corruption Committee promised to release an official statement outlining further details within legal limits.
