Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) has uncovered around 9.1 billion drams in undeclared sales by a trading company based in the town of Sevan, Gegharkunik Province.
According to the SRC’s Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department, the company, engaged in both food and non-food retail, systematically accepted cash payments without issuing official receipts through cash registers, instead providing only internal invoices, thus evading large-scale taxes.
Following extensive investigative efforts, authorities confirmed that between October 3, 2018, and March 26, 2025, the company concealed roughly 9.1 billion drams in sales revenue. The estimated damage to the state budget exceeds 2.6 billion drams.
A criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Committee’s Department for Economic Crimes and Smuggling. The SRC reminds businesses that proper use of cash registers is mandatory and failure to comply may constitute a criminal offense under Armenian law.
