Additional forensic report received in Levon Kocharyan's case – lawyer

Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan announced on Friday that the Armenian Investigative Committee had granted his request for an additional forensic examination in the case of opposition MP Levon Kocharyan.

The newly received report confirms that Kocharyan’s injuries resulted from blunt force trauma, consistent with impacts from hard objects, including fists. Crucially, the expert ruled out the possibility that the injuries could have resulted from a fall.

Aleksanyan stated that the conclusion, along with witness testimonies and video evidence, provides sufficient grounds for the launch of criminal proceedings against the police officers involved. A formal request for prosecution has been submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
