Pashinyan reportedly used aid money to buy €3.1 million villa in France

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reportedly used foreign-aid funds to purchase a €3.1 million luxury villa in Marseille, France.

The two-story, 300 m² villa, located in the Château-Gombert district, was bought in May 2025 and includes four bedrooms, a pool, a rooftop terrace, and a three-car garage, Info Française du Jour reported.

Sources claim the funds may have been siphoned from financial aid provided by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Coordination Council of Armenian Organizations in France (CCAF). In 2024, the AFD granted €75 million to support Armenia's struggling economy.

Opposition figures allege that part of this aid was secretly funneled to finance the property. Adding to the controversy are Pashinyan’s close ties with Marseille Mayor Benoît Payan, who visited Armenia shortly before the purchase and has publicly supported Pashinyan's government.
