MP: Situation around Artsakh's state institutions complex

Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has raised concerns about mounting pressure on Artsakh’s state institutions, accusing the Armenian authorities of obstructing constitutionally mandated processes to meet Azerbaijani demands, particularly the dissolution of Artsakh's government institutions.

"A complex situation has developed around Artsakh’s state institutions," Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday, pointing to efforts to disrupt the electoral process meant to preserve the Artsakh presidency.

"Thanks to the determination of some Artsakh figures, the National Assembly of Artsakh continues to function, albeit with severely limited powers. However, it remains under constant pressure from the Armenian government," he said.

The MP urged political forces in both Artsakh and Armenia who believe the Artsakh issue remains unresolved to move beyond fear and adopt a long-term strategy of struggle.
