Possible U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran could trigger Azerbaijani invasion of Armenia, analyst warns

Political analyst Armen Ayvazyan has sounded the alarm over escalation of regional tensions, warning that a possible joint military strike by the United States and Israel against Iran could trigger a large-scale Azerbaijani invasion of Armenia, particularly targeting Syunik Province.

“In the face of these existential threats, Armenia’s current leadership is instead waging war against the Armenian Apostolic Church and Catholicos Karekin II,” Ayvazyan wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

“What else could this be, if not an attempt to distract the public and state institutions from the threats facing the country? Is it just a coincidence that at this pivotal moment, Pashinyan is taking steps that can only weaken the country’s resilience, deepen rifts both within Armenia and the Diaspora and fuel despair?" the expert added.
