Pashinyan announces plans to invite Turkey's Erdogan to Armenia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced his intention to invite Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Armenia.

“I plan to invite President Erdogan to Armenia to participate in the European Political Community summit to be held in Yerevan next spring. I hope the next meeting will take place in the Republic of Armenia,” he said at a meeting with the Armenian community in Turkey on Saturday.

Pashinyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to establish diplomatic relations with Turkey and to reopen borders, roads and railway connections between the two countries.

“The Middle Corridor is a key priority for Turkey. One of the key features of the Crossroads of Peace initiative is that it could become part of the Middle Corridor. I will discuss the matter with President Erdogan,” he added.
