Artak Galstyan to be dismissed as Yerevan councilor

Yerevan City Council member Artak Galstyan is set to have his mandate terminated ahead of schedule, the Yerevan Municipality reports.

The motion for early termination was submitted by Hayk Grigoryan, a member of the National Progress faction, who argued that Galstyan had failed to attend all 17 City Council sessions, as well as all 11 meetings of the Legal Affairs Committee.

According to Grigoryan, Galstyan is currently under house arrest, which has prevented him from fulfilling his responsibilities. He emphasized that the law does not provide any basis to classify such absence as excusable.

Artak Galstyan is a member of the Public Voice faction.

The matter will be discussed at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
