FSB says stolen Alrosa diamonds sold to Khachatur Sukiasyan's company

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has revealed new details regarding the theft and smuggling of high-grade diamonds from Alrosa, a state-owned diamond mining company.

In a statement on Monday, the FSB said the stolen diamonds were delivered to ADM Diamonds LLC, a company whose beneficiary is Armenian businessman and pro-government MP Khachatur Sukiasyan, RIA Novosti reported.

The security agency has arrested a group involved in the scheme, including an employee of the company.

During the investigation, authorities seized approximately 200,000 carats of technical-grade rough diamonds, cash and jewelry.

The investigation is ongoing.
