Civil Contract introduces statement condemning attempts to 'seize power by force'

The parliamentary faction of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party has introduced a draft statement titled “On the Inadmissibility of State Power Seizure Through Violence and the Protection of Democracy”.

According to Hayk Konjoryan, the head of the faction, a special parliament session will be convened soon to debate the draft statement.

"The National Assembly will officially express its position regarding the terrorist acts plotted against the Republic of Armenia," he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

“In the Republic of Armenia, power belongs to the people. Long live the Republic of Armenia!” Konjoryan added.
