'Chained justice': Protest held outside Armenia's Constitutional Court

Young activists of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) held a protest outside the Constitutional Court building in Yerevan on Constitution Day celebrated on July 5.

As a symbolic gesture, they displayed a copy of the constitution bound in iron chains, declaring that the rule of law in Armenia had collapsed.

"Instead of the supremacy of law, we now have SMS-based justice and law enforcement that serves Nikol Pashinyan's interests,” one of the protesters stated. "What happened to the constitutional provisions? They seem to be buried at the same bunkers where Pashinyan hid while surrendering the Republic of Artsakh."

The protesters emphasized that nearly all constitutional norms had been violated or disregarded. However, they expressed hope that Armenia’s youth would “break the chains" and restore constitutional order soon.
