Massive raids reportedly planned at Mother See and senior clergymen's homes

Extensive searches are planned to be conducted at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the homes of senior clerics, 168.am reports, citing credible sources.

More than 100 investigators have reportedly been mobilized from Yerevan and other parts of Armenia. While the exact reason for the mobilization has not been officially disclosed likely to prevent information leaks, those involved are widely believed to understand the operation’s true purpose.

Sources suggest that large-scale searches are expected not only at the headquarters of the Armenian Apostolic Church, but also at the private residences of several senior clergymen.

Given the involvement of over 100 investigators, the number of accompanying law enforcement officers, including special police units, is expected to be high.

"Meanwhile, searches conducted at the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) and the home of Samvel Karapetyan's nephew, Narek Karapetyan, could be diversionary tactics. The primary focus of the operation is evidently the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II," the media outlet said.
