Seven arrested as part of terror plot investigation in Armenia

Armenia’s Investigative Committee says seven individuals have been arrested as part of an investigation into a terror plot and arms trafficking.

Earlier, NSS agents raided the homes of several ARF members, including the residence of opposition Hayastan faction MP Gegham Manukyan.

During searches at multiple locations on Thursday, authorities discovered remote-controlled detonators, grenade components, gunpowder, radio communication devices and other items of interest. One suspect has been charged with preparing a terrorist act under Article 43-308 of Armenia’s Criminal Code.

The preliminary investigation is underway.
