Temperatures to soar to 40C in Armenia

A hot tropical air mass from the south will bring extreme heat to Armenia between July 21-23. Daytime temperatures in Yerevan, the Ararat Valley and Syunik's lowlands are expected to reach 40C, with a high risk of wildfires in the areas.

From July 18-20, evening showers and thunderstorms are possible in parts of Yerevan. July 21-23 will be dry, though evening winds may intensify to 15-18 m/s.

Brief rain and thunderstorms are expected in Armenia’s regions on July 18-22, with downpours and hail possible on July 19-20. July 23 will be dry.

Evening wind gusts of 15-18 m/s are expected in Armavir, Kotayk and Aragatsotn foothills. Temperatures are set to rise by 2-4C next week.
