Kazakh filmmaker Adilkhan Yerzhanov has won the Master Award at the 22nd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival for his significant contribution to cinema.
Known for his genre experimentation and dark irony, Yerzhanov is considered one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Central Asian cinema.
The prize was presented by Vahe Torosyan, Deputy Director of the Matenadaran, continuing the tradition of collaboration between the festival and Armenia’s ancient manuscript institute.
The Golden Apricot Film Festival is being held from July 13 to 20.
