IRI poll: 49% say Armenia heading in wrong direction

According to the latest public opinion survey conducted by the International Republican Institute’s Center for Insights in Survey Research, 49% of Armenia’s population believes the country is heading in the wrong direction. In contrast, 36% think Armenia is on the right track, while 15% either declined to answer or were unsure.

The majority of respondents identified key national concerns such as issues related to national security, border tensions, unemployment, political instability, poor governance, ineffective leadership and weak public administration.

When asked, “If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, whom would you vote for?” the responses revealed significant public disillusionment:

• 28% said they would not vote.

• 22% were undecided or did not answer.

• 12% said they would spoil their ballot.

• Only 17% expressed support for Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his Civil Contract party (CCP).
