Foreign national arrested for drug distribution in Yerevan

On July 21, Armenian police apprehended a 29-year-old foreign national on Gai Avenue in Yerevan’s Nor Nork district. The suspect was taken into custody along with his Toyota vehicle.

During a search, officers found more than 45 grams of marijuana in his possession. The suspect confessed to obtaining the drugs via a Telegram channel with the intention of distributing them, the Interior Ministry reported.

Further investigation led authorities to a drop location where the suspect had hidden a package. A search of the site uncovered an additional 12 grams of marijuana.

A criminal investigation is underway.
