Artsakh issue is not closed, expert claims

The Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) issue remains far from resolved, orientalist Gurgen Melikyan stated during the presentation of opposition Hayastan faction MP Artur Khachatryan’s book "Artsakh Negotiations".

“Our mission is to ensure that the Artsakh issue remains open," he told reporters in response to a question about whether the book's messages would resonate with the current Armenian leadership.

“The Artsakh issue is not closed,” Melikyan underscored. “The very fact that many countries around the world, including the United States, continue to discuss repatriation indicates that the matter remains open. We must cherish the idea of return, stand by our compatriots from Artsakh and support their right to return to their ancestral lands. This is our sacred mission.”

"Artsakh Negotiations" provides a comprehensive analysis of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. The two-volume book explores the historical context of the negotiations, key decisions and proposed solutions. It also offers comparative insights into other international conflict resolution efforts and highlights pivotal events that shaped the course of the talks.
