A powerful tropical heatwave is sweeping into Armenia from the south, bringing exceptionally high temperatures to some parts of the country, the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center reports.
From July 28 to August 2, the Ararat Valley, Vayots Dzor foothills, Syunik valleys and Yerevan will experience extreme heat, with daytime temperatures reaching 38C-40C.
Authorities warn of a high risk of wildfires in the areas, as well as the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk Provinces, in the next five days.
