Lavrov: Minsk Group failed in Nagorno-Karabakh

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has criticized the OSCE Minsk Group for its failure to facilitate dialogue in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The OSCE also failed in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Minsk Group was unable to create the conditions necessary for dialogue between the conflicting parties. After its Western members withdrew from cooperation with Russia, the group lost all relevance,” Lavrov said in an article published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Friday.

Negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, headed by co-chairs Russia, the United States and France, have been ongoing since 1992.
