Tragic road accident leaves one dead in Armenia

The Tavush Regional Rescue Department received an emergency call reporting a traffic accident on the Noyemberyan-Bagratashen highway on Friday morning.

The crash occurred at the 23rd kilometer of the road and involved a Toyota and an Opel, the Rescue Service reported.

The drivers and three passengers were initially extracted from the vehicles by bystanders. Rescuers secured the gas valves of both cars and assisted in transferring two injured individuals to an ambulance.

The Opel driver was later pronounced dead at the medical center.
