A southern tropical air mass has brought extreme heat to Armenia, with temperatures in the Ararat Valley, Vayots Dzor foothills, Syunik valleys and Yerevan expected to reach 39C to 41C on August 2-7, especially during peak hours. A high fire risk is expected in these areas.
Dry weather will prevail, except for isolated thunderstorms and possible hail on August 2. Strong evening winds up to 18-20 m/s are forecast in Yerevan, Armavir, Kotayk and Aragatsotn Provinces.
Temperatures will remain steadily high throughout the week.
