Two cases of West Nile fever confirmed in Armenia this year

European health authorities have warned that high temperatures in 2025 could lead to an increase in mosquito-borne diseases, with West Nile fever posing the greatest concern.

In Armenia, however, the situation remains stable. According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, two laboratory-confirmed cases of West Nile virus have been reported in the country so far this year.

Reminder for the Public

To reduce the risk of mosquito-borne infections, health experts advise:

• Wearing long-sleeved clothing when visiting wooded or wetland areas

• Using insect repellents and protective devices

• Using insect-proof nets
