Economist and industry expert Ashot Parsyan stressed the need for economic reforms at the launch of the Our Way popular movement in Yerevan on Friday.
Parsyan described the current situation as troubling. According to him, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Armenia totaled $138.5 million in 2024, ten times less than what had been envisaged in the government’s program. Meanwhile, capital outflow from the country reached $400 million during the same year.
“These figures confirm that Armenia is not attractive to investors,” he stressed.
Parsyan argued that the Armenian economy faces serious structural challenges and called for consistent reforms and targeted investments.
“Our goal is to build a new economy, one that ensures stability, dignity and prosperity for our citizens,” the economist added.
